Seniors need to apply online after January 1st at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/

New this year – Instead of listing your umbrella school as your school, put “Homeschool”. This is because they have a new policy of requiring all umbrella schools to be on their approved list. Even though HLA is a TN approved school, we are not on the federal list.

Recommendation Letters: If your student needs recommendation letters from a high school guidance counselor, please follow these steps:
  • Log into your HLA account
  • Use the Request Manager and select Recommendation Letter from the drop down menu
  • Type the student’s name in the comment box with information about where to send the letter.
  • Submit your request. 
  • Email the following information to Lani Carey's Email: Details concerning the specific information you want included in the letter. Provide information concerning the student's goals, passions, strengths, and any personal qualities, char. traits, anecdotes that portray these, etc.

NCAA - The NCAA has approved HomeLife Academy students for individual assessments for the NCAA scholarships, and we have had several students receive NCAA scholarships. 

Note: Most colleges offer scholarships based on ACT/SAT scores, GPA, interests/major, ethnic background, gender, and etc. Please check with the colleges your student is applying to for scholarship information. Many employers offer college scholarships as well.
