High School Planning:
Many of our HLA graduates will go to 4 year universities, technical schools, or on-line schools, while others will go to work in a family business, become entrepreneurs or homemakers and homeschool their own children. Sit down with your child and ask him/her about future goals, interests, etc. and select electives and other courses accordingly.
We recommend completing a high school planning sheet for all incoming and current high school students to insure your student gets the correct courses needed and is on track for graduation.
HLA counselors are available to assist with 4 year planning.
Planning sheets are available below.
To have a counselor review your planning sheet simply scan the document and email it to a counselor. We will look it over and email you back.
Early Graduation
- If your student is going to be finishing high school in less than 4 years, please call or email a counselor to discuss the details and get approval. HLA may require an ACT/SAT score for students graduating early.
Goal-Based Planning Sheets:
For your convenience, we have two Goal-Based Planning Sheets (A and B) available for you to chose from. These are available for you to use as you begin to develop your child’s 4 year high school plan. Both forms have the same credit requirements.
You are free to use either form. Please refer to the
Course Guide
for course selections.
Goal-Based Planning Sheet A
:
A more generic form. For any high school student to use.
Please refer to the
Course Guide
for course selections.
Goal-Based Planning Sheet B
:
College bound students may find this document more helpful as it includes course recommendations. Please remember that the courses listed on Planning Sheet B are ONLY recommendations and NOT requirements. Please contact the college for requirements.
Please refer to the
Course Guide
for additional course selections.
GOAL-BASED PLANNING SHEET INSTRUCTIONS
These planning sheets are for your use. You should use one for each of your student’s goals. It is a complement to the high school information available on this website. Write in the goal, contact info, and notes. Contact the college, school, employer, etc. to learn what specific credits your students might need.
Add courses to the appropriate years. Write in pencil; it is likely your plans will change. If you have trouble call 888-560-0774 to speak with a counselor and she will help you establish a credit requirement list based on your student’s goals. We are dedicated to you
and your family.
