The National Bible Bee (NBB) Summer Study program is a fun and educational way for your children to spend their summer months in God’s Word. The vision of the NBB is “to know God’s Word and make him known.” Each year, children from across the nation bring that vision to life with their participation in the summer bible study.

Participants spend eight weeks, from June 4 to August 10, studying, memorizing and growing with God as they work through the NBB Discovery Journal. The summer study may be completed independently at home or in a group setting at church or with a NBB host group, once you register. The NBB “prepares and encourages participants to memorize and study Scripture.”

There are four age divisions for the summer study, which allows children as young as five years old to start their journey through the scriptures. The Discovery Journals follow the same study for each division and are geared towards children in that age range.

Beginner 5-6
Primary 7-10
Junior 11-14
Senior 15-18

Spending an average of 20 minutes a day, five days a week, is all that is required to complete the study during the summer.

Registration for the 2018 NBB Summer Study is open through Thursday, May 31. After that date, late registration, with a higher fee, will remain open through Friday, June 15.

Knowing more of the Word is reward enough after the summer, but there is more. Participants who want to take the summer study experience further may compete in the National Bible Bee Competition. Those contestants will meet other qualifying peers from around the nation in a competition awarding more than $100,000 in prize money. This year, the NBB Competition will be held at Oak Hills Church in San Antonio, Texas from December 3-6.

The NBB was created by the Shelby Kennedy Foundation. Learn more about the foundation, a non-profit ministry established in honor of Shelby Kennedy, a dedicated Christian who served in many ministry capacities with her family. Shelby lived her life for the glory of God and her desire was for other people to do the same.
