October 15 at 6:30pm at the McAllister’s Deli in Millington.

This will be the 3rd year for the graduation. I am going to try to organize it as best as I can, but will appreciate all the help I can get. Diana Choate, who organized the first graduation is going to help me. We will be discussing several things at the meeting. If you have a senior graduating or know a family with a senior, please pass this information on to them. The kids will be able to show their talent in the ceremony, as they have in the last two years. This is their day and we want it to be very special. We want to have a great graduation ceremony. If you have any suggestions or questions, please come with them. So, please come prepared for alot of information and input. If you have any questions please call me at 268-3870 or 837-0611.

A multimedia presentation with introduction to HomeLife Academy

The big picture is important: Why are we doing this? So are the details: How do we do this? Foundations are essential for success. Foundation #1 is God! Come be inspired and equipped. Plug into the big picture. Learn how God sparked the grass roots home schooling movement in America, and how He is using home education to unite families and raise Kingdom children! Understand homeschool laws, teaching, record keeping, resources, networking, support groups, and more. Finally, hear how HomeLife Academy is doing its part to help "Bring Education Back Home."

Solar System Adventure Tour is a program for intermediate and middle school grades and correlated to TSSCS 7.0, Earth and Its Place in the Universe, grades 5-8. As members of the crew of a space ship traveling through space, students obtain information about planets, moons and other parts of our solar system. HLA FAMILY RETREAT :P

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
September 23rd through the 25th, 2005
Natchez Trace State Park
Make your reservations today and come on out to the first annual HomeLifeAcademy family retreat.
We will spend the weekend of September 23rd through the 25th, 2005 together, surrounded by natural beauty of Natchez Trace State Park. Take part in fun activities sponsored by HomeLifeAcademy. Enjoy the amenities of park. Or just sit in your lawn chair and snooze by the lake. You decide!
We'll eat together, worship together, fellowship with friends and family; and leave refreshed and encouraged! So make plans now to attend.
The cost is $75 per family
This includes and helps pay for:
- Your meal on Friday night
- The dad's prayer breakfast on Saturday morning
- The mom's (pampering) luncheon on Saturday afternoon
- Payment toward the 1211 square foot group lodge, kitchen use, and other amenities
- Expenses for special guests
SPECIAL QUESTS:
The Notgrasses are coming!! http://www.notgrass.com
So are the Shearers: http://www.greenleafpress.com
And Teresa from http://www.howtoteachscience.com will do a FANTASTIC workshop.
And, of course, the animals AND hay ride will be back thanks to our very own HLA teacher, Alisha!!
Other special guests to be announced....
- A FREE retreat T-shirt for every attendee (to be given at the retreat)
THAT'S ONE T-SHIRT PER PERSON, NOT JUST ONE PER FAMILY. EVERYONE WHO ATTENDS, ALL AGES, WILL RECEIVE A FREE T-SHIRT AT CHECK IN TIME.
- And all the fun activities that we are planning for your whole family
NOTE: You will need to take care of your accommodations and the meals that are not part of the retreat package (see below). Other meals are up to each family (eat together!) and may be cooked over a fire or purchased at the Inn Restaurant, depending on how much roughing it you like to do!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Registration deadline is Friday, September 2nd.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Accommodations at the park are as follows:
You will need to take care of your accommodations and the meals that are not part of the retreat package. Rooms in the Pin Oak Lodge are $75 per night. This is for a hotel room with 2 queen size beds. For $70 per night you can stay in a room with one queen size bed. The rooms have no kitchen facilities, though the inn does have a restaurant on the premises.
NOTE: There are very few rooms left. You may reserve one by calling 1-800-250-8616.
Cabins overlooking beautiful Cub Lake are $78 per night. They tend to stay reserved most of the time and at the time that David and I spoke with a Natchez Trace representative, there were only 5 available for both nights, with an additional one available on Friday only. The cabins sleep 4 adults comfortably with one bed and one fold-out sofa. They can probably accommodate 2 adults and a limitless number of children if you bring pallets! The cabins are completely equipped for housekeeping, food preparation and serving. Each cabin has a grill and a picnic table, a fireplace and air conditioning. If you want a cabin it might be best to reserve this immediately. Call 1-800-250-8616 for reservations.
The park has four campgrounds, a total of 210 campsites. 190 of the sites have full hook-ups. There are a few camping cabins. Campsites cannot be reserved, they are first come first served. If you will be arriving late on Friday or coming in on Saturday, it might be wise to ask a friend who is coming earlier on Friday to reserve a campsite for you by paying for it and putting up a tent to reserve it. A small pup tent would be enough to make it "yours" until you arrive. According to the park website campsites are $17.50 per night, camping cabins are $25.00 per night.This information is subject to change.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
HOW TO REGISTER:
Register by mailing a check or money order for the appropriate amount, along with your name, address, email, phone, spouse's name, and names and ages of children to: HomeLifeAcademy, Post Office Box 34758, Memphis, TN 38184.
Or if you would like to register and pay with PayPal please login to your PayPal account and click "Send Money" to admin@homelifeacademy.com. BE SURE TO INCLUDE THAT IT IS FOR THE FAMILY RETREAT. Include the same information listed above in the Comments section of your PayPal payment. You will be sent confirmation of your registration within 8-10 days.
Thank you. Looking forward to a wonderful time together this fall!
Kelli Appleton and C.J. Willis
